Growing up in rural North Dakota, I learned early the values of honesty, hard work and community service. When my father, a Lutheran minister with a passion for farming accepted a call to Hastings ND, our family of eight became one quarter of the town’s population.
I grew up believing that as Americans we were blessed with unlimited opportunity, guided by a sense of hope and obligated to help those in need.
As a financial planner I see every day what families are dealing with: rising gas and food costs while at the same time the value of their homes and their ability to save diminishes. We are challenged as we try to budget for our children’s college tuition and put away something for our retirement.
But Minnesotans are a people whose strength and values let us come together to find innovative ways to do the hard things. Whether it’s a PTA trying to build a new playground or the University hoping to attract world class scholars and students, we always come up with a way to get it done.
It’s in that spirit that I want to take my leadership skills, years of experience in finance and passion for public service to the Capitol to MOVE US FORWARD and get things done.
I would be honored to earn your vote on November 4th.
